Message from the Commodore

Fellow TYC Members,

I hope this message finds you and your family keeping well.

Ryan Gibbons sent out a message last week from the Town of Blue Mountains stating that the Thornbury Harbour  is closed.  This resulted from the Province of Ontario closing access to all park areas due to COVID-19.

This timing is very disruptive as we would "normally" be getting ready for launch and the upcoming boating season.  Unfortunately, we had not planned on a world wide pandemic to throw a money wrench into all of our plans!

Both Dave L'Heureux and I have been in close contact with Ryan and Jason to figure out our next steps.  Ryan is currently following up with the Province and their legal department to determine what this closure means to our boat owners, access to our property and the ability to work on our boats.  I have asked Ryan to let me know as soon as he has any more information and I will let you know what I hear back.

Your Bridge is continuing to do everything that we can to keep thing moving forward so that we can be ready as soon as possible.  We will be sending out our membership dues forms shortly so that we can prepare our membership directory and plan for launch.  This will be a very different process than in the past so stay tuned for details on the timing and procedures.

We are in uncharted waters and as boaters I ask that you stay calm.  We will get through this together.  There is alot of information circulating around but we ask for your patience as we ride out the storm. The Bridge does have you best interests at heart so please bear with us.

Keep the faith everyone.

Kind regards and stay well

Linda
