BUMP & GRIND BULLETIN
FOR 01-Oct-20

Haul-Out

Haul-Out will be held on October 16th and 18th. The Haul-Out email blast was sent out to all members on Monday, Sept 19th. If you did not receive it, please check your junk mail. If you still did not receive it, please contact the TYC at info@thornburyyachtclub.com.

Please be sure to fill out the section regarding how your mast will be placed – mast up, stored on your boat, or stored in the pavilion. This is very important for Haul-Out boat placement.

We will need your waivers and payment by October 2, 2020.  The cradles are coming to the harbour on Oct 7th. The club cannot move your cradle without your waiver and payment by October 2nd. If we do not have your waiver and payment, you will be responsible for having your cradle brought down to the harbour.

Pavilion Winter Mast Storage

On Sunday October 3, the pavilion will be prepared for mast storage. The TYC Harbour Committee is looking for 5-6 volunteers for 1 hour to move the picnic table and remove the side curtain and store them above the Harbour office. If you can help please come to the pavilion on Sunday at 11am.

Mast Crane

The key for the mast crane is at Gyles. There is a $20.00 deposit required. The mast crane has had another lock added to it. It’s at the base and will keep the crane from turning with strong winds. The lock uses the same key as provided.

Try Laser Racing!

This Saturday the Laser sailors will be out in force enjoying one of last sailing days of the season.  If you haven't tried racing a Laser, this Saturday is a great opportunity to experience  exciting, tight, tactical racing.

We meet at 11am by the launch ramp, and races start on the water at 12 NOON.

If you are interested contact mbeaton@thermor-ins.com (647-284-0102) Wear appropriate clothing (you WILL get wet) and you must wear a PFD.  We'll fix you up with a boat and some instruction to get you going.

A Laser is highly responsive and because all the boats are the same, you know exactly how well you are sailing.  With decent wind we normally run 10 or 12 windward/leeward races back to back.   Hope you will join us!

We observe all Covid-19 protocols, so we will not be congregating as a group.
