The JAZ Single Handed Race

The JAZ Single Handed Race was a great success. The race started with reasonable weather but during the first leg the wind and waves started to increase. The fleet of 5 skippers put on an extraordinary display of boat handling and seamanship and all managed to finish.

Results:

1st: Eroica

2nd: Shy Tuna

3rd: Pogue Mahone

4th: The Other Woman (RBC)

5th: Second Quest

The JAZ Single Handed race was able to raise $500 for the Childern's Aid Scholarship Fund -

This is a scholarship fund where young people  graduating from high school that were at one point, in the services of Children's Aid  can apply for and receive funding to help them attend a Canadian College or University.

Thanks to all the participants and supporters of the race

  • The Racers - Second Quest, Pogue Mahone, Eroica, Shy Tuna and The Other Woman from Meaford
  • Additional donations came in from each TYC boat that raced as well as from Moon Shadow, and Bell Ile

Thanks again to all who participated!

James Palmer, Rear Commodore, Racing
