FOR 15-May-18

Let the Pavilion Parties Begin ~ RSVP by This Thursday

Saturday May 26th is the TYC Annual Lobsterfest, hosted...and boiled...by the Londos Clan; George, Pat and Tobyn.

Here's How it Works...you RSVP on-line by this Thursday (we have to order the lobsters on Friday). If you don't know how to RSVP on-line, give Carla a call, 416 346 6247. The cost is $20 per person which you bring with you to the event. Guests are also $20. When you RSVP you are responsible for the $20, even if something comes up and you can't come.

On Saturday May 26th you come to the pavilion about 4:30. Everyone participating brings an appy, salad or dessert to share. As with all of our green social events, you also need to bring your own plates, cutlery, beverages (very discrete)...and for this event; bibs, napkins and crackers for the claws.

The Londos gang serve up the lobsters and butter...and voila....eat, share stories and have fun.

Sail Past Registration is Open

Sail Past is on Saturday June 2nd. More details about the day will be coming but a quick summary is that you register on-line for the dinner. Then on Saturday June 2 you meet at 12:30 in the pavilion to pick up your dinner tickets, roster, membership card...and at the Skipper's Meeting you learn the route and receive your boat number. The Sail Past occurs on the water at 3pm. Following the Sail Past, everyone is piped back into the harbour and makes their way to the pavilion for a BBQ dinner. Georgian Bay Regatta 2018

To all Georgian Bay Sailors:

Now is the time to have a look at your summer schedules and make time for the Georgian Bay Regatta.

The Classic Regatta short format takes you to the west part of the Bay, with a new anchorage in the shadow of the imposing escarpment. Your crew only has to take 2 days off work for 4 days of long distance sailing and course races. You will finish in Midland for the Awards Dinner.

The Pre Regatta is a new addition for those sailors who want to spend more time on the water and sail both events and see even more of what Western Georgian Bay has to offer. Those who cannot make the Classic may find that the Pre Regatta fits in well with their schedules.

In any case, the 2018 Regattas provide you with the opportunity to see new areas of Western Georgian Bay with its majestic backdrop, the Niagara Escarpment.

Last year, we did not get in many races due to poor weather, so this year we will be making it up by adding more races! There will be up to 10 sailing events including a "Mystery Race".

Be sure not to miss the early bird discounts. Register before June 1 and save $40. Register before July 1 and save $20.

Please click here for the  link to register and we will see you at the start!

Harbour Update

Well we had a great day for launch, and everything went well.  The cradles have been transported to the storage lot for the season which went smoothly.  E-dock has been put back together and ready for the season.

If you did not meet the new members of the Harbour Staff on Sunday you will see them around the harbour this season.  Graham and Kenny have returned and please join me in welcoming James and Kyle please have patience while they learn.

Now for the dock work, we just finished the repairs and alignment of the docks prior to launch.  With the late start due to weather and ice we have not been able to accomplish all that is required for the start of the season.  The water lines will be installed by early part of next week May 21-25 if you do require water to wash your vessel we have a couple of submersible pumps that we will make available to do so until the water lines are repaired. The zebra mussels shells are being cleaned off today.  The staff have been replacing the missing boards as we go today and should have them completed(May 15).

The garbage cans will be put out today May 15, the recycling containers will be out be the end of this week when we have equipment to move them.

Please keep in mind the deadline to have your mast stepped is the end of the month.  For the cradles that do not fold flat, jack stands or trailers you have until the end of the month to move them, if not the Harbour will move them and charge the owner.

The barbeque was serviced at the end of the season which has been installed and ready to go for this season.  The propane tank is attached for use.
