SATURDAY AUGUST 26th

JOIN US & BRING YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS

TO THE HARBOUR (Rain or Shine)

RSVP NOW

 

 

This is an event not to be missed. Great if you have children, grandchildren and friends and neighbours to bring....equally great if you come yourself with your inner child! Activities are for adults and children. Come when you can and stay for the afternoon/evening.

The day activities and the BBQ are free for members and guests. Please RSVP by Tuesday August 22nd so that the organizers have some idea of the numbers.

 

10:30 - Laser Racing a.k.a. Try Out a Laser (Steven Wimmer)

Meet at the launch ramp by the Harbour Masters Office. Don't have a laser, don't dispair. Steven Wimmer will be taking out the Limestone and folks wanting to try out a laser can do a 'transfer at sea' to give it a whirl. Please bring your own lifejacket.

 

Noon - Picnic lunch 

Bring your own lunch and join fellow members in the pavilion for a picnic lunch

 

1:30pm - Remote Control Demos and Racing (Steve Fisher)

Right after lunch come to watch, cheer and to try your hand at a remote control sailboat. Have your own boat? be sure to bring it! Have another type of remote control boat - bring it as well!

 

2:30 pm - Team Boat Building Competition - for kids and teams of all ages (Jenn Perks) 

Come with your own team or join with another. Try your hand at  boat building with 'mystery products'. Teams with one or more children will have a better handicap for the prize categories. Prizes for looks...and performance. RSVP for this event when you RSVP for dinner.

 

3:30 pm - Prizes and Special Fundraising Announcement

 

4:00 pm - Dock to Dock Boat Tour and Appetizers - (Carla Nicolson)

A variety of boats on A, B, C and D docks will be open for touring, our own 'Boat Show'. Boats will be identified with balloons and a list will be provided. Appetizers will be available on the participating boats.

 

4:00 pm Kids Carnival!!! (Jenn Perks)

While you are touring and snacking, children are invited to come  for a variety of old fashioned carnival activities under the direction of Jenn Perks. If children are under 8, please have a parent or adult stay with them. Please meet on the grass by A dock (if raining, meet in the pavilion)

 

5:00  BBQ starts in the pavilion

Gather in the pavilion for barbequed sausage on a bun, caesar salad, chips and dessert are provided. Please register on-line for this so that we ensure we have enough BBQ. What is a barbeque without s'mores? Bring your own marshmellow sticks and make a s'more after dinner is over. Also - pls bring your own plates, cutlery, etc.

 

After the Barbeque....Jam night and sing song (Mike Wright)

If you have an instrument, please bring it along! Stay and enjoy the musical talents of TYC members and join in the singing.

...and the Morning After

Coffee with the Bridge at 10am on Sunday morning. Come for coffee and donuts in the pavilion. Meet with members of the Bridge, learn about the strategic planning process they are going through, and raise any issues/ask any questions.  Interested in joining a committee and being on the Bridge - come to the Coffee with the Bridge and see what it is all about.
