Heading North?

Feedback so far is that there is a large contingent of TYC members heading North this summer and planning to attend the North Rendezvous on Wednesday August 9th. Doug Johnston is the point person for the Rendezvous and will be monitoring VHF 16 on the Rendezvous Day. If you need to reach Doug, hail Guardian II on the VHF or call/text his cell at 705 446 7878.

The location for the Rendezvous is known as Keyhole; also known as Mile 58 (mile 58 on the Small Craft Route) at the west end of Collins Inlet. There are two spots to anchor, north of Deadbolt Island or South of Keyhole Island, with the former having the most space. Each spot is well protected from waves and wind.

We will gather on shore for appetizers later in the afternoon and then later for dinner with boat barbeques.

KIllarney on Tuesday August 8th?  if you are coming through Killarney on your way to the Rendezvous, plan to gather at the Carousel Lounge, Killarney Mountain Lodge on Tuesday night for some great music.

The harbour is in need of transient slips for the Georgian Bay Regatta arriving in Thornbury on Sunday August 6th.

If you are heading north for the rendezvous, or just out cruising, please remember to let the harbour office know when you are leaving and your estimated date of return, so they know if your slip can be available.

Harbour WiFi

Work has started on the Harbour WiFi.  You will notice two new WiFi sources; TYC-1 and TYC-2. Connect to the one with the stronger signal for your location. In a few weeks, a third WiFi access point will be added, TYC-3. The password remains the same, tyc198383.

Summer Family Fun Day

Ensure you have Saturday August 26th on your calendar....brining your family, friends to the harbour for the day.

The day will start with Laser Racing...don't have a laser, don't dispair. Steven Wimmer will be taking out the Limestone and folks wanting to try out a laser can do a 'transfer at sea' to give it a whirl.

Picnic lunch in the pavilioin - bring your own lunch and join with fellow members in the pavilion for lunch.

Remote Control Demos and Racing  right after lunch. Come to watch, cheer and to try your hand at a remote control sailboat. Have your own boat? be sure to bring it!

Team Building Competition - put your team together for boat building with 'mystery products'. Teams with one or more children will have a better handicap for the prize categories.

Dock to Dock Boat Tour and Appetizers - A variety of boats on A, B, C and D docks will be open for touring, our own 'Boat Show'. While you are touring and snacking, children are welcome in the pavilion for a variety of children's activities under the direction of Jenn Perks.

BBQ dinner with pot luck saladsPlease register on-line for this so that we ensure we have enough BBQ.

After dinner - s'mores on the barbeque, sing song...if you have an instrument, please bring it along!
