This weekend begins with a work party to put the sides back on the pavilion. As you know this is a volunteer club - that's where you come in. Please volunteer your time to bring the sides out of storage and install them on the pavilion. We need about 8 people for 60-90 minutes. If you can help out, please meet at the harbour masters office at 1000 hrs on Saturday.
Lobsterfest gets underway about 1600hrs when George, Tobyn and Pat get the lobster pots boiling. We're going to have a good turn out as 70 people have registered for this event. Reminder to everyone who has registered to bring an appy, salad or dessert to share. Also, as with all pavilion events, this is a green event, please bring your own plates, cutlery, ...and a few extra napkins for this event!
Registration is now open for Sail Past on Saturday June 3rd. Every TYC member is invited to participate and to bring their guests, sail, power and no-boaters alike. The Skippers meeting is at 1230 hrs, followed by the Sail Past on the water at 1500 hrs and then a bbq in the pavilion at 1700 hrs. Registration for the BBQ is required as we usually get a big turn out and need to ensure we have sufficient food. Members are free and guests are $15 each. Please go on-line and register today. If you have any questions, just send a note to Vice Commodore Andi Kleiser at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for registering is Sunday May 28th.
We want to take this opportunity to welcome 9 new members so far this year, If you see them about on the dock, be sure to say hello and welcome! Apologies to John Alexander Ramey for leaving him off the list lasttime.

Moving Masts Out of the Pavilion - The window for moving the masts out of the pavilion is a short one this year. With launch behind us and the work party to install the sides at 1000 hrs on the 27th, masts must be moved out of the pavilion between today and the 26th. The sides are going up on the morning of the 27th so that everything can be ready for Lobsterfest in the afternoon.
Using the Mast Crane - Safety and knowledge arecritical for successfully stepping your mast. If you have not used this Mast Crane before or if you are not comfortable using it, please contract Gyles Sails and Marine to work with you to step your mast.
As you know, you get the key to the Mast Crane from Gyles Sails and Marine. You will be issued a key if your signed waiver (signed by all owners of your boat) is on file and with a $20 key deposit. There is a limited number of keys, so please REMEMBER to return your key as soon as you are done and have left the mast crane locked. And if you have used a dock cart to move materials to the crane area, kindly return it to the end of a dock.
