FOR 17-May-17

Start your Engines!

The season is underway. Mother Nature smiled on us and the weather for launch was considerably better than many past launches and even better than the forecast. The Commodore's Ball held the night before launch was a great success - about 100 members, good food, good music and loads of lively 'catch-up' conversation! Special thanks to Pete Mather for taking 'black and white' pohotos of everyone and for taking a group for it in a future publication.

Moving Masts Out of the Pavilion - The window for moving the masts out of the pavilion is a short one this year. With launch behind us and the work party to install the sides at 1000 hrs on the 27th, masts must be moved out of the pavilion between today and the 26th. The sides are going up on the morning of the 27th so that everything can be ready for Lobsterfest in the afternoon.

Using the Mast Crane - Safety and knowledge arecritical for successfully stepping your mast. If you have not used this Mast Crane before or if you are not comfortable using it, please contract Gyles Sails and Marine to work with you to step your mast.

As you know, you get the key to the Mast Crane from Gyles Sails and Marine. You will be issued a key if your signed waiver (signed by all owners of your boat) is on file and with a $20 key deposit. There is a limited number of keys, so please REMEMBER to return your key as soon as you are done and have left the mast crane locked. And if you have used a dock cart to move materials to the crane area, kindly return it to the end of a dock.
