COLD WATER AWARENESS: With the frigid water temperatures I thought it would be a good time to share some information from the Canadian Safe Boating Council regarding cold water awareness. Super Turn Out at Sunday's Pub Night!

The  pub night held last Sunday, April 23rd at The Corner in Thornbury featured the long awaited presentation by Mike Molloy and John Gyles on the refurbishing and racing of Raven, the 8M classic champion. It was a record turn out of close to 50 people. The presentation was entertaining and informative - thanks Mike and John!

Did you leave your jacket at the pub? A  jacket was left at the pub night with reading glasses in the pocket. If it belongs to you, they have it at The Corner for you.

 

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP/DUES FORMS  DEADLINE: APRIL 30TH

The annual membership form, dues statement and indemnity forms with payment are due by April 30th...launch is Sunday May 14th. The count down is on. Get your forms in the mail or drop off at John Gyles. They must be received by TYC by April 30th. 

 

Have you RSVP'ed yet for the Commodore's Ball a.k.a. Launch Banquet?

The Commodore's Ball is on Saturday May 13th at Lora Bay, in the main Club House. All details are on the website and on-line RSVP is required by April 30th. The theme this year is 'Black and White', dress it up...or dress it down, whatever black and white is to you, that works for us! The dinner is a prime roast beef dinner starting with hor d'oeuvres when you arrive right through to a sumptuous dessert, we will have music of course...and there is a $15 corkage if you wish to bring your own wine. Don't delay, go on-line and register today. Then once you get your confirmation, drop your payment into Gyles Sails and Marine ($35 for members and $45 for guests).

WATER: The water is on from the Fish Cleaning Station to H dock. Please make sure the handles on the yard hydrants (water hydrants) are completely closed (down) when you are done using the water. Water is planned to be turned on at the pier Monday.

LAUNCH: The harbour is looking more and more ready for boats every day. Ramps went up on F, G, H and I docks this week and we plan to put the rest up next week. A contractor is scheduled for next week to re-connect the hydro to all docks. Everything is looking good for Launch day, May 14.

2017 HARBOUR TEAM: We welcome a well experienced team at the harbour this summer. With a veteran team starting the season you are sure to be serviced well! Jason is the lead on site with Connor, Alex and Graham. We are also pleased to welcome Kenny who will start on July 4th.

 

HARBOUR HOURS

8AM TO 4PM Monday – Friday until May 12

8AM TO 4PM 7 Days per week May 13 until June 29

8AM TO 7PM 7 Days per week June 30 until September 4

8AM TO 4PM 7 Days per week September 5 until October 31

8AM to 4PM Monday – Friday November 1 until December 1

 

Remember to call the Harbour Staff prior to heading over for servicing.
